Why is "Welcome to New York!" an important program?
New York State requires all fourth grade students to study New York State. In fifth grade, all students take a NYS test which covers much of this material.
This program is an excellent teaching tool which directly supports classroom curriculum, addresses multiple NYS learning standards, and serves as effective review for test preparation.
“Welcome to New York!” is fun and demands high levels of participation by students which leads to high levels of information retention. Teachers have been amazed at how much their students have learned and how excited they were to learn it.
